Life Prep Academy offers courses that will prepare students for college, career, and independent adult life. Classes cover core, vocational, and enrichment subjects. LPA’s year-round schedule makes it possible for students to make up missing credits, get remedial assistance in core subjects, participate in a work program, and take enrichment courses of interest.
Sample courses:
CORE: Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Health, Physical Education
VOCATIONAL: Resume Writing, Communication, etc.
INDEPENDENT LIVING: Know Your Car, Cooking A-Z, etc.
ENRICHMENT: Art, World Language, Outdoor Adventures, Sewing, Sports with Calvin Christian High School, Classes at CCHS, etc.
Work Program
Seniors at Life Prep Academy participate in the work program. Partnerships with local businesses provides students with opportunities to apply occupational skills learned in the classroom. Other students have the opportunity to work as well, but must meet academic requirements.

Post-secondary Education & Transition to Independent Living
Life Prep Academy assists students as they transition into independent adults, and help with post-secondary education opportunities.
During the students time at LPA the school will work with the students to teach them about important aspects of independent living to make the transition easier. Skills that will be worked on during their time at LPA are:
- Meal planning & preparation
- Car care
- First Aid/CPR
- Home care
- Driver’s license
- Basic sewing
- On Your Own
- Child care
- Personal finance
